1. American Ginseng and Ophiopogon japonicus Soup

Ingredients: 10g American ginseng, 15g Ophiopogon japonicus, 15g Polygonatum odoratum, 10g lily bulb, and appropriate amount of lean meat.

2. Prunella vulgaris and chrysanthemum tea

Ingredients: 15g of Prunella vulgaris, 10g of chrysanthemum, and 10g of goji berries.

⚠️Precautions for hyperthyroidism:

- Don’t eat too much iodine: eat less kelp, seaweed, and sea fish.

- Things that are not good to eat to warm up: mutton, ginger duck, longan, bye bye!

- Don’t eat irritating foods: chili pepper, coffee, alcohol, hold it back!


II. Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid)


What does Traditional Chinese Medicine say about hypothyroidism?

Spleen and kidney yang deficiency, and insufficient qi and blood.


What are the symptoms of hypothyroidism?



Afraid of cold all day long, no strength, edema, constipation, poor memory.


Recommended hot spring water:

1. Astragalus and Yam Chicken Soup

Ingredients: 15g astragalus root, 30g yam, 5 red dates, and appropriate amount of chicken.

Efficacy: Tonifies Qi and strengthens the spleen, improves fatigue and edema.


2. Angelica, ginger and mutton soup (best drink in winter)

Ingredients: 10g Angelica sinensis, 5 slices of ginger, 200g mutton.

3. Sishen Soup

⚠️Precautions for hypothyroidism:

- Don’t eat raw or cold food: ice drinks, watermelon, those are not for you!

III. Thyroid nodules/cysts


What does Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) talk about?

⚠️Precautions for thyroid nodules:

- Eat less high-fat and fried food: it will aggravate phlegm and dampness!

- Be careful with iodine intake: it depends on the nature of your nodules.
